New Verseo.com

Ain’t she purty? We just recenlty launched our new Verseo.com online home and we are quite the proud parents. We still have several tweeks we will be making in the next few weeks per your recommendations so thank you for all the great feedback!

Oh, what feedback you say? Well for example:

“Your search sucks”
Yes, yes it did. We were using a built-in version of search that pulled in EVERYTHING from Google. So yeah, we fixed that.

“Some pages are not consistent and it’s hard to find things”
OK, we went page by page and attempted to simply and make everything consistent for you. Now you can breathe.

“It’s so vintage Web 2.0…”
No, you actually didn’t say that but we thought it. We don’t know what the current coolness is called but we attempted to adopt it. You know, for fun…

“Navigation could use some fixin’”
You didn’t say that in so many words, but your click patterns suggested it. We have updated navigation per your most requested content. We hope you enjoy our new journey.

We also took a look at our analytics and tried to surface content that you found most interesting like of course Special Offers, Tips & Tricks, and our Top Selling products.

So say WELCOME to our new online home and please feel free to suggest anything you’d like to see be added (or taken off!). We are still planning for site registration, PayPal and International Checkout as well as updated checkout process.

And maybe some little Easter Eggs with special discounts just for taking a peek. Why here’s one now! Use coupon code NewVerseo and get 25% OFF any order! Yup, we’re not advertising it anywhere but here. So if you took the time to read this, reward yourself with a little discount and thank you for your time! Expires soon so hurry!

P.S I am also crossing my fingers my little blog home gets an update too.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit!

Organic Icelandic Herb Skin Salves – yes please…

July 20th, 2012
Villimey Skin Charm

Villimey Skin Charm Salve

Summer is in full swing at our campsite and with it some serious skin issues. My poor beautiful nine-year old daughter suffers from mild to moderate eczema. When her eczema gage starts tipping towards “extreme”, it’s just awful.

This girl loves all things outdoors. Camping, swimming, climbing, running, sailing, etc. We also happen to live by the ocean and love to do all kinds of water sports. But her eczema frequently flares up during this time because of all the summer fun. So she opts out of some of her favorite activities because frankly jumping into the salty water while your skin is on fire…um, not fun.

Putting her to bed at night hearing her tear her skin apart from itching is like that blackboard screeching sound to me. For the most part, as long as I lather her up with Aquaphor continuously after being remotely wet, she’s OK. But lately I’m starting to wonder, given the transdermal properties of our skin, is that such a good idea? I mean, do I really want her to be absorbing this stuff all.the.time? Enter Villimey

Do Villimey Salves Work?

In a word. Yes. Verseo started offering Villimey products about a month ago. I hadn’t had a chance to try it until just recently and wow, I AM SOLD! Villimey has a pretty cool story. This lovely lady, Adalbjorg Thorsteinsdottir  (thankfully she also goes by Alla, phew!) started the company from her kitchen table combining her knowledge of local herbal remedies. Iceland is pretty unique in that it’s one of the newest land areas with quite a bit of volcanic activity. The vegetation that grows in Iceland is often not found in any other part of the world. Furthermore, Tun, the Icelandic organic certification organisation employs very strict rules governing what may be deemed “organic”. If it qualifies as a 100% organic  from Tun, you’re golden. ‘Nuff said…

Villimey Icelandic Herbs and Salves contain no preservatives, fragrance, or color and are 100% organic meeting Tun’s standards. It’s just pure organic goodness. I am very thankful to find this Villimey goodness with their Icelandic Skin Charm Salve. My daughter’s eczema is far more under control and I don’t feel like I’m lathering her with potential gook.

Verseo is currently offering $5 off any Villimey product as an introductory offer. Use coupon code: organic. We think you’ll appreciate its uniqueness as much as we do. And I’m guessing Alla will thank you too… ;-)

Summertime Ponytails

Hair Plus Hair Growth System

Hair Plus Hair Growth System

I live in San Francisco so most have heard about Mark Twain’s coldest winter being a summer in blah blah blah. Well not this summer so far. Holy heat index! Time to re-look at my scrunchie and get my summertime ponytail groove on. I’m pathetically bad with good hair styles. My hair-do’s are hair-don’ts. But you know what? It’s not that hard!

If you are reading this, you have internet. If you have internet, you have YouTube. If you press “play”, you can learn from some awesome women all kinds of ways to do the summertime ponytail. If I can do it, well, a trained monkey could to. So check these out. Oh, and of course, if you are sporting the summertime pony-sprout (not quite a tail yet) and would like to hyper-drive your hair growth, of course we have Verseo Hair Plus Hair Growth shampoo and conditioner. Seriously one of our best products and our top repeat customer buy. It just works. Your hair will grow faster and with volume and then you can make your own summertime ponytail videos.

Video not your thing? Then check out Verseo Summertime PonyTail Pinterest board for some great ideas! If you have one you need to share, please comment and I’ll post.

Cellulite after pregnancy

Verseo RollerCell Cellulite Massager

Really, it’s summer already? I don’t know if to be giddy or terrified. If you follow, you know I recently had baby number 3. Baby number 3 had a good time with my body. I’m not exactly bikini-bottom ready. But you know, I never really was so I’m not sweating it. Too much.

I have recently started back on a moderate workout routine. More than burning fat though, it does wonders for my inner peace. The days that I do get that long walk in, I feel so much better and want to continue to be active and get back to some sort of fit lifestyle.

I have also started back on using my RollerCell cellulite massager. Because just like that walk jump starts me into wanting to get fit, my RollerCell does wonders for my problem areas and makes me want to continue to do things that make me feel good about myself and my body.

I don’t aspire to be like the beautiful tush pictured in our ad above. I’m guessing PhotoShop had something to do with that amount of perfection (though I don’t discount the hard work the beautiful model probably put in). But I can aspire to be at least 25% better me.

So I’ll get my walks in, do some weight training, I may even attempt something like P90X. And I’ll continue with my RollerCell massager. The massager stimulates the blood flow helps improve my skin tone and really does lift and tone my thighs and I love the way it makes me look and feel.

With a happy inner-self, a refreshed looking body and my Collyre Bleu eyedrops, it’s no wonder I’m getting more than a few “You don’t even look like you had a baby!”. Of course, they aren’t saying “You don’t look like you had a baby! You don’t look like J Lo either after her twins but, for you, not bad older-lady-of-three-children, not bad at all.”

I’ll take that.

All I want for Mother’s Day is a Mother…

May 9th, 2012
Mother is a Verb - Verseo.com

Mother is a verb - Verseo.com

There. I said it. My inner 6-year old is pouting to get out and dammit, she wants a mother. This is how my day would go:

She would gently sit on my bed while rubbing my hair to coax me into a dreamlike awakening. She’d have all my clothes ready for me and I could stay asleep while she commenced dressing me while I just lay there [Of course I'm six so my bootie is rock hard and I have legs to die for, so any kind of weirdness about being naked is not even speck of thought in me].

Then I’d bound downstairs and my breakfast would be already waiting for me. Of course I wouldn’t notice this but the kitchen would be all clean and the dishes put away because my Mother would have woken up early to get the morning chores done.

I would rattle the most mundane of happenings, whatever crossed my mind I would blurt out with abandon and assume it was the most riveting conversation I could possibly have because she would listen attentively…
while she made my lunch.

As I munched happily (on whatever amount of food I could possibly want, what are calories anyway? I’m six people) she would prepare my lunch in the background, carefully cutting out my crusts and making sure it had the right amount of fruits, veggies, grains and of course a little goodie. And they would all be packaged in containers that I would re-use so that I fit in with my ‘no-trash’ lunch buddies.

I would have no idea what time it was but she would move me along my morning schedule swiftly brushing my teeth as I sang, combing my hair as I continued to talk (and talk and talk and talk) and dutifully put on my back pack with my library book, signed papers and lunch box all ready to go. I would have no idea when and how this stuff would all make it on my back but I don’t really care.

Then she’d walk me to school as I continued to talk and talk and talk. Sure my day at school may be hard learning about snails and tadpoles but when I walked out, my mom would again miraculously be there. I could tell her all about my day as we walked home and I would again, have no idea what time it was but if I wanted to stop and play at the park, I could.

Once we made it home, I would really not notice, but the house would be clean, my clothes would be washed, folded and put away, my bed would be made and a nutritious snack would be waiting for me at the table.

Maybe if I had a busy day of tennis practice, I again would have no idea of what time it was but would be carted off to go on with my busy day [and yes, appropriate busy day accoutrements like tennis rackets and water bottles would already be packed from God knows where and waiting in the car].

After my busy day, I would get to play in my clean room whatever I wanted and then she would call me down for dinner – all. ready. to. go. She would even give me dessert on a little plate with a little fork and a napkin (remember about the calories?).

She would then start my bath as I continued to talk and talk and talk about my day and somehow I’d end up cleaned up with my hair washed. I don’t really remember how that gets done, it just happens.

She would then gingerly towel me off and give me my bedtime lotion massage, aaaaahhhhhhhh. After some more senseless happenings like teeth brushing and hair combing, I would be able to pick out 3 books and she would tuck me into bed with striped sock money, and little monkey, and puppy, and I would snuggle in while she read me my books (changing her voice to match the characters in the book of course).

And finally, I would get 11 hours of non-interrupted sleep and NO ONE would climb into my bed at night.

Man, I wish I were a grown up – they get to do ALL the cool stuff O_o

Four ways to stretch your beauty dollar – Collyre Bleu is one of them!

April 10th, 2012

Well lookie here. I was in the midst of actually spending money (on vacation), when I came up on this video from Yahoo Finance’s Farnoosh. Celebrity makeup artist Nicole Williams talks about some simple ways to use everyday products for beauty basics. Makes sense! I’m thinking however, I’m going to skip spraying “Pam” on myself. I do that scrunchie face thing even when I apply to bakeware, can only imagine my expression trying to spray it onto myself!

But super cool that Williams mentions Collyre Bleu eyedrops. I love them too (and no, they don’t make my “Brown Eyes Blue…”…)

If you didn’t know, we had to stop sourcing them for about a year. The company in France that was making them for us retired so we had to find another company that would apply the same formula. But they are back (from Italy this time) and what’s even better with this round from Italy is that you can wear Collyre Bleu with contacts (old one’s you couldn’t). Sweet!

Let there be peace…

November 15th, 2011

So yesterday I blinked and all of a sudden it was Holiday madness. Wha’ happened? I know I may even be late to this party because I’m pretty sure I saw some tinsel in the drugstore isles around 4th of July time.

Every once in a while, we all sit down at Verseo for a potluck type lunch and catch up on our family gossip. During our last one I realized how much fun it is to work for a company that is a family versus a machine. Of course the Filipino marinated steaks with the sweet sticky rice that is sometimes brought in kinda makes it “fun” too (there’s a party in my tummy so yummy, so yummy).

We were discussing our plans for Holiday Offers and promotions and we collectively decided that this year we would let people enjoy their families (and potlucks) as much as possible. You know, get off of email and get back to basics for a bit. So we decided not to start our Holiday Offer emails and promotions until Thanksgiving.

Don’t get us wrong, we hope you’ll be delighted by the offers we have planned but for now, we want you to rest and enjoy the time with your families. Our way of giving thanks! Now go bake some cookies and take a walk with your kids. Yes, the days are getting shorter, but lives shouldn’t be :-) .

Can The Most Interesting Man in the World be MORE Interesting?

September 19th, 2011

Verseo just announced their launch of GrayBan Shampoo. Now it’s even easier to get your natural hair color back without harsh colors or dyes.

Now us ladies, well we may already color our hair, not really to cover gray but because someone somewhere convinced us that highlights and things of this nature are a good idea. I’m starting to regret it given the amount of upkeep this takes. Letting it get back to it’s natural color is very appealing to me. GrayBan helps do just this by bolstering a pigment-like protein much the way melanin works to boost color in your hair and skin.

But many men could really benefit from a gradual darkening of their natural hair color who would never DREAM of coloring or dying their hair.

So I started daydreaming of who would be perfect for Grayban Shampoo and thought about that quirky Mexican alcohol commercial actor. I can’t remember what alcohol it is he pushes but it’s a good ad campaign (my memory is just made of Teflon, not his fault…). When I first saw the Most Interesting Man in the World I was hoping they were not serious or risk being serious cheese-factor. But then I realized it’s basically a spoof and I think it’s great.

So would “The Most Interesting Man In The World” be even MORE interesting if he started using GrayBan? I can’t tell, he’s pretty darn handsome as the salt-n-peppa’ type. But if it starts turning towards the salty-side, I’m thinking having GrayBan Shampoo as a backup, not a bad idea…

What do you think?

Fall Restart

August 31st, 2011

My kids started school today. The oldest in 4th grade, the youngest Kindergarten. Other than getting them more “primped’ than I would normally bother (and having my giant tourist camera glued to my face), the day is basically like any other day. Except…. except that it’s not.

I remember being school-aged and taking on each first day of school like a complete restart. WAY more than New Year’s Day, the first day of school was truly “the first day”. The first day to make new friends. The first day to be someone you might want to be that year. The first day to explore that new look. The first day to give yourself new goals. Almost like being able to press life’s “Restart” button.

After college, years weren’t so entwined with school schedules and sure, New Year’s Day could bring on that refresh feeling, but nothing compared to an actual first day of school. Now, as a mom of school-aged kids, my years have gone back to their new calendar years. I don’t even buy calendars in January anymore. My calendars all start in September. It’s when I can fill in schedules and make most of our plans for the year.

I figure, if they get a “restart”, I get a restart too. So this is when I make my own personal schedule. I schedule in my haircuts, figure out my new workout routine, organize how I’ll do meal plans, even try new beauty products. Maybe that’s why I love Fall so much. Restarts are just, well, awesome.

This Fall we have a couple of new products that got their own “restarts”. So if you’re in the midst of making your Fall Restart health and beauty plans, here’s a couple you may want to consider:

GrayBan Shampoo
. GrayBan Spray has been a long time best-seller so this is a no-brainer. You gradually get back your hair’s natural hair color by promoting a melanin-like protein to be substituted back into the hair follicle. So a shampoo that does the same thing just makes sense. No harsh dyes or crazy colors. Just you the way you were originally designed.

Ibu-Relief12 – OK, so no it’s not a beauty product but the beautiful thing here is that you get anti-inflammatory relief in a soothing cream. I recently was offered Vicodin for a torn muscle. I hate that stuff. Just makes you wacky while you still feel the pain. I turned it down and tried this instead. Did the trick. Soothed my pain exactly where I needed it and I didn’t have to worry about some of the nasty intestinal side-effects of taking in too much ibuprofen internally. Don’t get me wrong, I may be addicted to ibuprofen in general, especially for headaches but I know that stuff can really be caustic to your organs. What a relief to find this alternative. Definitely a “restart” product in my medicine cabinet.

So bring on Fall! I’m ready and very willing. I’ve even started a Fall Restart Pinterest Board to give you ideas for everything from stylish looks, makeup finds, to Halloween decorating! Be sure to follow me on Pinterest to keep updated with my latest finds. (And if you don’t know what Pinterest is, click here to find out more, you’ll love it, promise…).

Do you have any Fall Restart routines or Fall Blog posts? Would love to hear them!

Always Grateful,
