My #1 Beauty Secret? Eyelash curler and Collyre Bleu

March 13th, 2010

Collyre Bleu Eyedrops by VerseoBy now you may realize I’m not exactly the Beauty Expert who wakes up 2 hours early to prepare doses of elixirs waiting to be applied just-so for my daily beauty regime. Bottom line, I’m real, I’m a mom of two young kids, I work, and I’ve been married to a lovely man for about 10 years. I do envy those that can experiment and have the time to really take care of themselves. But for me, I do use Verseo products and have my sets of favorites, but I don’t have tons of time to really qualify for an over-dosed beauty “regime” that includes extensive makeup application.

Some of my must’s – clean face, moisturizer, anti-aging solution, and SPF. Makeup? Just a trace, enough for you to see the “real me” without the “Huh? what’s that on your face?”. But my absolute, number one, bar-none favorite “make-up” beauty tip? Eyelash curler and Collyre Bleu. I’m not kidding. You have no time, what is the number one thing most people notice about you? Your eyes! Of course your eyes! They are the windows to your soul. It should be your eyes that they focus on. And if your eyes spark the questionable “Is she on something?”, then it’s time to do something about it.

Life happens, kids crawl in bed or have nightmares, jobs have deadlines, husbands whack you with restless-arms, you lie awake wondering what colored towels you should get for the guest bathroom (ok, so maybe that’s just me), and you’re not always getting those refreshing eight hours on a daily basis. Sleep deprivation I would argue is the number one issue in our society. And it takes a definite toll. Add to that air-pollutants, allergens, and 8-hour day computer use, your eyes are toast my friend… Your windows to your soul can become dreary little fog-induced portals, much less “shiny windows”.

So, after my cleaning and makeup ‘veiling’ routine, I ALWAYS, use a couple of drops of Collyre Bleu eydrops and an eyelash curler. Maybe some lash tint (too black of mascara and no matter what any mascara company touts, I’m racooning by 5pm..) and I feel just a few years younger and a whole lot more refreshed and “dewey”.

When I was first introduced to Collyre Bleu I thought, oh, it’s a product to make blue eyes really blue, cool. But then I learned the “blue” eyedrops (the actual solution is blue) is meant to counteract the yellow and red tones in our schlera (white part of our eyes). My sclera is usually a nice hue of spidery pink and yes, a bit yellowish. The obvious reason? Lack of sleep and age. My 7 year old definitely does not need Collyre Bleu yet… As we age, well, we age! Our eyes age too. And we show our “age” through our eyes by means of crow’s feet and yellowing eyes. Collyre Bleu are wonder drops. They are refreshing, they soothe my eyes and they make them just gleam a sparkling white.

So all I need after the drops are a a good eyelash curl and TA-DA! Instantly years younger and with a look like I’ve been sleeping my eight-hours for YEARS… My little secret revealed here for you!

Should I pluck my gray hair or use GrayBan?

March 2nd, 2010

Verseo GreyBan

GrayBan

“Oh the things you can think….” Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss! All this thinking can give a girl gray hair… Well, not really but it’s a good lead into this post.

I have dark hair. I’m at the ripe age where I’m starting to see more than a few gray streaks that on any other chique French girl, it may look awesome. But on my kinda-curly hair, the “grays” have a tendency to just STARE at me in the mirror when I’m getting ready in the morning. You know the kind, my mom had it, that little “skunk” line from the top of your head that could swoop nicely down. So admittedly, I pluck them. They drive me insane and are such a contrast to my hair that yes, I pluck…. But my hair dresser told me the other day – “Just leave them alone!”

The more you pluck your gray hair the more you’ll see them. No one is noticing this but you. If you pluck them then of course they’re going to stick out right in the middle of your head.

– Wise Hair Dresser

So I’m inspired to just leave them alone and go with the “flow”. I don’t have them so much that I’ve tried one of our products out but the more I “go with the flow” the more I may just switch over to this. GrayBan is basically a solution you apply to your hair to “restore” your natural hair color. It’s not a dye and it’s not a shampoo. Instead it comes in a spray bottle you apply to your hair once a day and you’ll start to see results gradually within a month. So how does GrayBan work? GrayBan uses natural protein in the hair to bolster melanin production which restores hair to its natural color. Melanin is what we lose as we age. It’s a cellular-level pigment. More if it…darker. What’s nice is that it’s not this shocking dye-job. It’s a respectable, “I’ve rediscovered my youth” type solution. Loving that!

Anyway, I’m definitely curious to try this since I do read the GrayBan reviews and boy do people love this. Just something to “Think” about…

The maligned Acai Berry Supplement…

February 26th, 2010

Verseo Acai Berry SupplementHave you heard about the acai berry? Chances are you have. This super antioxidant fruit took off like gangbusters last year. The trouble is that greedy little scammy marketers went a little nuts with it and soon it was next to Viagra as far as Spam complaints. Poor little berry. We introduced it last year but were frankly afraid of promoting too heavily for fear of having spam complaints. And this product is great! If you haven’t heard about this fruit, well you should know studies have shown that this little berry is one of the most nutritious and powerful foods in the world! Acai (ah-sigh-ee) is the high-energy berry of a special Amazon palm tree. So rich in antioxidants that it is used in both consumable and cosmetic products to fight free radicals. What are antioxidants? Stuff your body uses to get rid of the bad stuff inside you (in laymen’s terms…). Don’t believe me? Check out this Acai Berry article from WebMD.

Well we’re coming out of our shell and letting our customers know about this great little supplement. Each serving of Verseo Acai Berry Supplement provides you 1900 ORAC. ORAC stands for Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity and is the new standard of measuring jointly developed by the Natural on Aging and the USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging (in non-laymen’s terms…). It also provides you with 160mg of Green Tea, a specialized type of polyphenol whose antioxidant capacity may help support your immune system.

This week, we’re getting you Red Carpet ready. We’re offering our Verseo Acai Berry Super Antioxidant Supplement for FREE with a purchase of $60. Just add it to your cart and enter coupon code Acai.

Removing your “winter coat” with Verseo ePen home electrolysis system

February 23rd, 2010

Verseo ePen Offer

Verseo ePen Offer

Well, it’s that time of year again. Cherry blossoms are blooming and we’re taking our first peek at ourselves from behind skinny jeans, boots, sweaters, coats, etc. Woah, what’s that!? Well hon, that’s your “winter coat”. All that fuzz that your opaque tights neatly covers over in the winter, you realize Spring Break is just a few weeks away right? Time to spring-clean yourself. OK, I’m going to boast a little now. I have great hair. We’re talking too thick to put in a pony-tail type hair. I can’t even let it grow out too long or my head feels “heavy”, I’m serious. But with all that great hair, well, let’s just say it doesn’t “stop” at the top of my head. I am one furry little monkey.

I can safely say I’m an expert at hair removal. I’ve done shaving, waxing, that crazy threading (OUCH!), and I would seriously consider Laser Hair removal if it weren’t for the price. But I have definitely found a friend in Verseo ePen Home Electrolysis system. It takes a little bit of patience, it’s not just one treatment and you’re done. Your hair is too smart for that. Body hair grows in “phases” where you may have new re-growth every few weeks. So you do have to stay on top of it for a bit.

But the results are really impressive! I used to wax and have tried threading my upper lip (again OUCH!!!!). With Verseo ePen, I just put the banana pads on, and use the system and wow, what a difference it has made and seriously not painful. I’ve also done part of my legs and can now sleep in nightgowns without feeling like I’m razor-burning myself.

We know this is the time of year you really should start thinking of your hair removal strategy so we’ve come up with a great little offer. Right now when you purchase a Verseo ePen, you get a free supply of replacement pads with your purchase, check out the Verseo ePen Offer page for details.

Also, little hint…you really want to load up on that conductive gel since it helps ensure there is no pain. If you purchase an additional conductive gel bottle you’ll end up qualifying for Free Shipping so one pays for itself, but shh…management never reads this, ha!

And the winner is…..KEONTE! Winner of our “Name our eyelash growth product” FaceBook contest

February 22nd, 2010

Winner of Verseo FaceBook Fan 'Name our product' contest

Congratulations Keonte! We are all just beaming here with this contest and our adorable winner. To recap, a few weeks back we held a FaceBook Fan contest and asked Verseo Fans to name our yet-to-be-released new product. We had lots of good entries. Many were so good that they were already product names… bummer. But one name definitely delighted us. The product is an eyelash growth stimulator that Verseo has spent some time with clinical studies backing the finished product (not just the “ingredients”) to make sure it was safe and effective. So we are very excited about the results of this product and will be unveiling it very soon. But we had to make sure it had the perfect name. And well, Keonte, a Verseo FaceBook Fan, picked the winning entry. Stay tuned after these commercials… oh just kidding.

The winning name? everLASHing. Don’t you just love it? We did. Per her entry: everLASHing – “Eternal Beauty. Lasting Impression”. Love it. I’m thinking Drew Barrymore cuteness. We’re even more bubbly because Keonte just seems like such a neat person. She is a mommy to a beautiful boy, works in banking and is full of life. When she was notified of her winning entry she wrote: “Can you see me jumping up and down?!”. When asked what is the best advice she’s been given she shared this: I celebrated a birthday on February 8. I turned 29, and have never felt better. Inside a card given to me by my Mom, there was a line that read,

“Be happy. When you don’t have what you want, want what you have.” While my Mom can’t take credit for this “advice”, I think the words are perfect. So many times we are not satisfied with what we have. We fail to realize our that our life is adequate enough with the people and things we already have. Love those first. “

So congratulations to Keonte, be sure to check out her blog at mommy2k.com. And stay tuned when we officially unveil everLASHing by Verseo.

Laissez les bon temps rouler – detox time…

February 18th, 2010

Verseo 48 Hour Detox CleanseWhen I was in college, …yesterday…(riiiighhht), I had a good friend that was actually FROM New Orleans. How cool is that? So he invited my roommates and I to New Orleans to celebrate Mardi Gras. Wow… We stayed at his grandfather’s house right near Anne Rice’s place in the scary-cool district that I don’t know the name anymore. This man epitomized New Orleans. He was in a wheelchair not because he had broken his hip or anything more normal like that, no this man had gotten the bends while scuba diving…’nough said…He had Po’ Boys waiting for us and the most glorious beads. Only later did I realize why people where flabergasted at the awesomeness of my beads. WHAT, pray-tell, did I have to do to get THOSE beads? Well, like good college kids in New Orleans, yes, we did do the New Orleans thing and even went to Pat O’Brien and had one of those Hurricane drinks. I still have headaches thinking of those beasts.

I’m getting somewhere with this, promise. So what does “Laissez les bon temps rouler” mean? Simply put “Let the good times roll! (baby)”. And yes, they were good times. But the body can only take so much. Nowadays, my body can take WAY, WAAAYY, WAAAYYY, less too. And it’s not that fun to have headaches anyway.

With this story I introduce Verseo’s 48 Hour Cleanse system. 48-Hour Cleanse drinks are quite popular especially amongst those wanting to kick-start a weight-loss plan. But what I like about Verseo’s 48-Hour Cleanse is that it really does just that…”cleanses” your system of many impurities just hanging around. It contains healthy doses of natural ingredients like apple and grape concentrate, aloe vera, green tea and stevia extract (stevia is my new favorite healthy non-sugar subsitute too by the way) and many more body-pleasing foods. And it’s just that, a “food”. It’s not a medicine, not a fabricated “concoction” of any type. Just a simple drink of 50 calories that if taken within a 48-hour period along with healthy doses of water and elimination of body-yucky foods like too much coffee, can really revitalize your system.

I’m probably still eliminating the yucks from that New Orleans experience when I go through a cleanse cycle. But of course, the memories were worth it (I think). So if you did the Mardi Gras thing (or the Super Bowl thing, or the President’s Day thing, or the “Wow, did I really just drink that entire bottle of wine and eat that entire box of cheese pizza” thing, maybe your body needs a little TLC. No harm trying, Verseo offers that crazy 100% Unconditional money back guarantee if you’re not satisfied…

Oh, and we’re very, very, very close to announcing our FaceBook Fan contest winner, so stay tuned!

What is a FaceBook Fan page and why I like them

February 8th, 2010

Facebook 101

Well, as I’ve been pimping our Verseo FaceBook Fan Name Our Product Contest it dawned on me that many of you may not know what a FaceBook Fan page is and why you would care! Duh…so I thought I’d offer my humble opinion on the subject. By now you know FaceBook is this thing where you can log in, connect with old friends and family, post silly pictures of your cat and kids and just generally keep  in touch. Many of you (us), are quite the addicts of this thing because it’s so fun to get a quick snapshot of what your friends and family members may be up to on your own time at your own pace. Email is getting crowded and well, this is kind of like being in a giant friendly chat room though you don’t have to actually participate if you don’t want to and just can take a quick gander and re-connect and bolt. I got way into it after my 20th high school reunion (ummm, my 10th, I mean my 10th…). People I haven’t talked to in YEARS popped up and hey, kind of fun to know little things here and there about their lives now without too much effort or commitment. I’m a lazy friend so this is perfect for me.

About Ads

Companies have been flocking to FaceBook since they know many of you (us) spend an awful lot of time there and not watching their TV ads. Now many of you (us) would be quite frankly annoyed if FaceBook started having crazy pop-up ads and all kinds of buy-me things flashing around. After all, one of the reasons you (we) like this set up is that is that if feels somewhat protected. So FaceBook does have nice little friendly ads that are pretty tame (and right now, not tremendously “clicked” on…). They are also getting some bit of banner ads still not trying to overwhelm you.

But something companies have been doing is creating “Fan Pages” where people can go and look at their information, maybe comment on products, see any special offers and generally, participate in the company’s marketing on their own terms which I think is nice. Fan Pages vary depending on what companies decide to post there. Usually it’s a little info on the company, they may have some discussions about some products, they may launch some contest, they may have exclusive offers for their FaceBook Fans. You don’t even have to have a FaceBook account to look at these pages.

Example FaceBook Fan Pages

Now I know you may be thinking, who the heck cares why I like them. But I like to consider myself pretty darn average (still awesome though). So I’d like to think that if I’m digging this, probably other average (though awesome) people will like them too. For example, I’m a FaceBook Fan of Education.com. They give out some cool tips and discussion I can use with my children that are quick reads I can peek at on my own terms. I’m also a fan of Netflix. They have fun contests and a good community and sometimes special offers I’d want to hear about.

Why I like FaceBook Fan pages as a consumer

So in a nutshellf, why do I like FaceBook Fan pages? There may be a some companies or products for which I’d open up my pocketbook. I don’t know about you, but nowadays, I’m almost frozen when I go to an actual mall. I like to first research it on the internet, figure out what it is, figure out what others have said about it, then search for the best price. A little exhausting if you don’t focus your efforts. FaceBook, in certain cases, allows me to see if there are any offers happening, what others may be saying and just get a “feel” for what I may be considering. It feels personal and it’s one place I can look at for all of these things on my own terms.

Why I like FaceBook Fan pages as a company

No, I’m not an actual company but I am lucky enough to be somewhat of the “star” of our company’s Fan page. What do I like about this for Verseo? I like that we can also get personal with our customers and that it’s not in-your-face marketing. If a customer wants to check out our offers, they can do it at their own pace. If they have a comment they want to share and feel a part of our community, they can. It just feels like a sane way to help communicate our value to those that are truly interested in hearing it.

One last comment…

OK, so now you’re all caught up on this Fan thing, but you still just have one more day to help name Verseo’s next hot product. So stop reading this and get to it. And if you’re reading this and our  contest is over – you snooze, you lose. So go be a Verseo FaceBook Fan and suggest our next uber-cool contest… Thanks a million!

Last day to name Verseo’s new Eyelash Product!

February 8th, 2010

Our way cool contest is still underway to search for the PERFECT name for our yet to be released eyelash growth stimulator. I’m really loving the names some people are picking out but think many of you are quite timid or maybe you think you’ll get spammed or some crazy pop-ups will happen if you post. I’m here to tell you, no that won’t happen. I’m just having some fun and have convinced management to let me have it…. They have a new product, they HAD a name, and I said WAIT, this product is for our customers right? Why don’t you see what they come up with? I’m thinking they may be more creative than us? And I’m right so far, loving the names but I would like to have it very hard to choose and have LOTS AND LOTS of options. So go ahead, check out our Verseo FaceBook Fan page and just post your suggestion in our Discussions tab. If we pick your name, you get bragging rights and a couple of bottles of your new creation when it’s finally realized (which is very, very soon, um…we’re just waiting for you…soooo snap, snap!).

Verseo announces new contest – Verseo Facebook Fans get to name next new product!

February 4th, 2010

Verseo FaceBook Fan PageSoooo, I’m really, really, really, really. Yes really excited about this contest (OK, I’m excited because it was my idea but I still think it’s cool on its own). The wonderful Verseo product development team has been kind enough to delay the release of Verseo’s latest hottest new product – eyelash growth stimulator to let our Verseo Fans name the product.

This thing will be hot, hot, hot! I have a side story on this for later….  So you may know Verseo now is Web With-it and we’ve set up a Verseo Facebook Fan page. What’s cool about the Fan Page is you really get to have a good conversation with Verseo and learn about new product offerings, special offers only available to Verseo FaceBook Fans and other good info (plus you can also tell us what you think on many things).

Now we know these products are only loved if they’re loved by you so we thought wouldn’t it be special if our very own Verseo fans get to be part of this new product experience? How could we do this? Oh, I KNOW! Why don’t we let them come up with names for the product before we go into final stages of product development! Yes, then we pick out the best one (I know, pretty subjective but we’re not Procter & Gamble here with tons of research mumbo-jumbo marketing budget…) and actually name the product based on their input! The winner gets all the glory and fame and endless “bet you didn’t know that about me” quality commenting time of having named an actual real product plus a couple of bottles to show off your creative inspiration.

So, what do you do?

  1. Check out our Facebook Name Contest page for the info.
  2. Then click on the link to go to FaceBook. If you’re not registered for FaceBook, you have to get a login but you know, it’s easy and you probably want to be Web With-it too by now…
  3. You become our Fan (there’s a little button that says “Become a Fan”, you’ll see it…)
  4. Then on the “Discussions” tab, post your recommendation.

Now the kicker…and there’s always a kicker…the nice product development team also has a schedule so they agreed to hold off for one week (CONTEST ENDS FEB 10, 2010!).

We have one week to come up with our coolness name so get to it. And thank you in advance for indulging me in my fabulous-o idea.

(I’ll blog about that eyelash growth side note next time, promise…)
